HTH 220: Leadership for school change 

 

My participation in this course has changed my own mindset. I am now able to see myself as a school leader, and hopefully everyone else at my school can see me that way too.  I had already been working with other teachers and having conversations about different issues, but this course gave me the tools and motivation to begin real actions towards change.  One of the key piee.ces for me was the first conversation I had with a teacher, where I needed to ask about their dream school. I actually asked a few of them, and was surprised to hear their dreams.  When I was asked to invite one of them to our final class, I knew exactly who to bring.  I decided to also invite her to spend the whole day with me, visiting classrooms at HTHCV.  It was an awesome experienc She told me on our way back that being there and taking part in our class was the biggest eye-opener she had ever experienced. Since then, she has been truly motivated and a very good support for me during staff meetings and other activities.  I now know that it is crucial that I find the strengths in my colleagues in order to empower them to become part of the change initiative.
