Alejandra Padilla

My Name is Alejandra Padilla. I am 34 years old, I am Mexican, I live in Tijuana and I am a Clinical Psychologist and an Educator.  I have been married for 11 years and I am a Mother of two.  My eldest son is Erick, who is 9 years old, and my little girl is Sophia, who is 8 years old. I am currently a Graduate Student at  High Tech High's Masters in Education with Concentration in Teacher Leadership.

This is my third year working at a Pre-K-12 school, in Playas de Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. The previous four years, I worked at Kindergym, which is part of the Gymboree Mexico franchise, with over 70 schools in our country. They specialize in early stimulation and preschool education.

Some of the things I do at my worksite are : workshops for teachers and parents, social-emotional woekshops for students, Restorative Justice Facilitarion, inclusion programs for kids with special needs, IEPs, and teacher coaching. As a Clinical Psychologist, I have the privilege of helping children go through different problems and obstacles such as the divorce of their parents, death of a loved one, separation anxiety, post-traumatic stress, learning difficulties, etcetera.  My approach is Play Therapy and also working as a team with their family and teachers, by creating a comprehensive environment at home and school, where they can thrive.thoughts and ideas. This is my journey to become a better person, a better teacher, a better psychologist, and a better leader in my community.  Welcome!
